English Language Course (A2 Level)

Course: 160 academic hours
Study period: 15. September 2026 – 29. April 2027

Course Volume and Structure

The course comprises 160 academic hours, including:

  • 80 academic hours of face-to-face classes

  • 80 academic hours of independent study and practical work

The course is delivered through face-to-face classes. Independent study includes listening activities, reading tasks, workbook activities, vocabulary consolidation, grammar practice, short writing tasks, and preparation for dialogues and everyday communicative situations.

Target Group and Entry Requirements

The course is intended for adult learners wishing to develop their English language proficiency to A2 level.

Participants are expected to have English language proficiency at A1+ level. Entry level is assessed through a written placement test and an oral interview evaluating all four language skills: reading, listening, speaking, and writing.

Course Aim

The aim of the course is to develop learners’ English language proficiency to A2 level, enabling them to communicate confidently and effectively in a range of everyday situations.

Language of Instruction

The language of instruction is Russian.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, learners will be able to:

  • communicate effectively in everyday situations and exchange information on familiar topics;

  • describe people, places, daily routines, past events, and future plans using simple, connected language;

  • understand the main ideas of simple spoken and written texts on familiar topics;

  • write short, well-organised texts, including emails, messages, and simple descriptions;

  • use A2-level vocabulary and grammatical structures accurately and appropriately in spoken and written communication.
