English Language Course for Grade 7 Students

Course: 120 academic hours
Study period: 15. September 2026 – 13. May 2027

Course Volume and Structure

The course comprises 120 academic hours, including:

  • 60 academic hours of classroom instruction
  • 60 academic hours of independent study and practical work

The course is delivered through face-to-face classes. Independent study includes listening and reading activities, vocabulary revision and consolidation, grammar practice, workbook exercises, short writing tasks, and preparation for dialogues, presentations, and project work.

Target Group and Entry Requirements

The course is intended for Grade 7 pupils wishing to develop their English language proficiency from A2 to A2+/B1 level.

Participants are expected to have English language proficiency at A2 level. Entry level is assessed through all four language skills: reading, listening, writing, and speaking.

Course Aim

The aim of the course is to develop learners’ English language proficiency to A2+/B1 level through the systematic development of all four language skills (listening, reading, speaking, and writing), while expanding vocabulary and strengthening grammatical competence for effective communication in everyday situations and on topics related to school life.

Language of Instruction

The language of instruction is Russian.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, learners will be able to:

  • communicate effectively on topics related to school, everyday life, and future careers, expressing and justifying their opinions;
  • describe personal experiences, future plans, and a variety of real-life situations, as well as make suggestions;
  • understand spoken and written texts on familiar topics and identify both the main ideas and specific information;
  • write emails, descriptions, short opinion texts, and narrative texts;
  • use A2+/B1-level vocabulary and grammatical structures accurately and appropriately in spoken and written communication.
