English Language Course for Grade 4 Students

Course: 120 academic hours
Study period: 15. September 2026 – 13. May 2027

Course Volume and Structure

The course comprises 120 academic hours, including:

  • 60 academic hours of classroom instruction
  • 60 academic hours of independent study and practical work

The course is delivered through face-to-face classes. Independent study includes listening and reading activities, work with the coursebook and workbook, vocabulary revision and consolidation, grammar practice, short writing tasks, and preparation for dialogues, role plays, and short speaking activities.

Target Group and Entry Requirements

The course is intended for Grade 4 pupils wishing to develop their English language proficiency from A1+ to A2 level.

Participants are expected to have English language proficiency at A1 level. Entry level is assessed through written and oral tasks.

Course Aim

The aim of the course is to develop learners’ English language proficiency from A1+ to A2 level, enabling them to use English confidently and effectively in everyday communication.

Language of Instruction

The language of instruction is Russian.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, learners will be able to:

  • communicate in simple everyday situations using familiar language and expressions;
  • describe people, places, activities, and events, and ask and answer simple questions;
  • understand short spoken and written texts on familiar topics and identify key information;
  • write short texts, including descriptions, letters, and simple stories;
  • use A1+/A2-level vocabulary and grammatical structures accurately and appropriately in spoken and written communication.
